Weber Releases Griddle Insert for 22″ Charcoal Grills

Weber’s iconic kettle grill just got a little more versatile. Adding to their impressive line of accessories, Weber has added a griddle insert for the the 22″ charcoal grill.

While Weber’s standalone gas griddles are nice, the griddle insert is a perfect accessory for charcoal grill owners that want to griddle without buying another grill. The griddle plate even has some features that make griddling easier.

Retailing for $169.99 (check price at Ace Hardware or Weber) it comes with a pre-seasoned, rust resistant surface that you can still use metal utensils on. This saves a bunch of time, and charcoal, from having to season the griddle before use.

To make it easier to swap your cooking grates out for the griddle, there are two stainless steel handles. There’s also a rim around the griddle to secure it in place in your grill and keep you food from falling off.

The back of the griddle plate has a cutout to drain grease for cleaning. You can put a foil pan underneath it to keep the grease from just spilling into your kettle.
