Move over pellet grills, the full size, outdoor electric grill market might be the hottest new area of expansion for grill companies. Napoleon announced the Rouge EQ electric grill for a fall release, and the Char-Broil EDGE was released in May. Now, it appears that Weber might be joining the party with the LUMIN outdoor electric grill.
Update 10/18/23: Weber releases the Lumin
A trademark filing was released that shows Weber filed for the name LUMIN under the outdoor electric barbecue grills category. That would be a good indication they are planning on releasing a product with that name.
They currently have a portable electric grill, the Pulse 2000, that they offer with a cart option, but they have nothing to directly compete with the EDGE and the Rogue EQ. We’ll see if the Weber LUMIN will fill that gap in their product line-up.
This comes on the heels of Char-Broil filing for another trademark in the outdoor electric grilling space.
