Camp Chef’s parent company Vista Outdoor previously announced plans to split into 2 separate companies. The 2023 split will see a Sporting Products company that will house their ammunition brands while the Outdoor Products company will include their non-ammunition outdoor brands including Camp Chef.
At a town hall at the headquarter for Simms Fishing Products, which they recently acquired, Vista Outdoor CEO Chris Metz announced the headquarters for the Outdoor Products company will be located in Bozeman, Montana. The Bozeman Daily Chronicle quoted Chis Metz with the following statement.
We did a look at the landscape across America, and we felt that the Northern Rockies and in particular, Bozeman, Montana, was the best place to put our headquarters. That is another nod to the vibrancy that we see in this community here.

Vista Outdoor has multiple companies in the Gallatin Valley area, which they see as a community they can help contribute to.
By having three companies in this area, it really gives us the opportunity to lean into more community efforts — more conservation with waters but also our public lands. We’re looking forward to establishing ourselves here in a much bigger way.

After the split of Vista Outdoor, Chris Metz will remain the CEO of the Outdoor Products division.
