BIG news this week that will shake-up the grilling landscape. W.C. Bradley Co., the parent company behind Char-Broil and Oklahoma Joe’s, announced that they acquired Dansons. Dansons is best known for being the owner of Pit Boss and Louisiana Grills.
W.C. Bradley Co. has one of the best outdoor cooking portfolios out there, but their only weakness was on the pellet grill front. This acquisition changes that drastically. We’re excited to see what they can do with their new brands.
On the retail front, Academy Sports reported earnings this week and noted outdoor cooking as a strength in the quarter. You read that right! They’re seeing success specifically with Blackstone griddles and are taking market share in the outdoor cooking segment.
Speaking of Blackstone, they had a successful launch of a pizza oven earlier this year. Now they’ve partnered with Walmart on a less expensive version, as well as some exclusive accessories. The new pizza oven preserves all the features that make it great, so they’ll likely see success at the new price point.
With Father’s Day coming up next weekend, Solo Stove has the perfect card. In a great marketing idea, they are giving out free Father’s Day cards that have a built-in fire starter. The idea being you can read it, then rather than throwing it out, you can use it to start your fire pit (or grill).
Father’s Day cards aren’t the only thing that Solo Stove is releasing, they came out with their first new product since their acquisition of TerraFlame. Well, it’s new to them at least. They started selling an Adirondack chair on their website with the TerraFlame by Solo Stove branding.
PK Grills are a favorite of ours because of their quality products, and also their rich history. As a nod to that history, they expanded their All New Original PK Grill (the PK 300) to include a new Silver color like the original. It’s a great looking grill!
Primo Grills released a new accessory for their ceramic cookers this week. It’s a two piece griddle. The center of it can be flat, for more surface area, or a grate for temp control and searing.
Finally, Hestan released an outdoor cooking suite to accommodate the pizza oven they released last year. It features a large grill, a pizza oven, and a beer tap. What more could you need from an outdoor kitchen?
