Tefal UK has a new pizza oven coming out later this month in partnership with popular chef, Jamie Oliver. It’s competitively priced and has a host of nice features to earn a spot on patio.
Details of the new pizza oven aren’t up on Tefal’s site yet, but there are some very solid clues about what they will be. You can tell from this Instagram post from Sam Nixon, that it’s a different version of the Pizza Pronto oven found on Tefal Australia’s website.
The Jamie Oliver version has some branding with his name and logo, and the dials on the side are a different color. When the oven reaches the UK it will have a suggested retail price of £349.99. That’s cheaper than the competitors once you factor in that this oven will come with a pizza peel, which often isn’t included.
I’ve tested both the Ooni Koda 12 and the Gozney Roccbox, which both are the heavyweights in the category. This oven from Tefal is a little low on the max temperature at 400 degrees C compared to 500 degrees C from Ooni and Gozney.
400 degrees is nothing to sneeze at though, that’s where many wood fired pizza ovens operate at and they turn out some great pizza. The main benefit with the Tefal oven that may overcome the spec comparison is the rotating stone.
A rotating stone means you don’t need skills with a pizza peel to use the oven and get an even cook. The stone design is better than others on the market too because there is a square stone surrounding the circular turntable, rather than just the circular section. That will make it easier to correct any mistakes from unsuccessfully launching a pizza into the oven.
