Not only does Solo Stove continually come out with their own outdoor lifestyle products, they also partner on some cool collaborations. Last year they collaborated with Rumpl on a fire resistant blanket, and now they’re partnering with Brant & Cochran on a limited edition Maine wedge axe.
Branded as the Allagash Cruiser, this is the only Maine wedge pattern camp axe made today. It’s hand forged in South Portland from 1050 carbon steel, with a Rockwell hardness of 56-58.
The 2.5 lb axe is hung on a 28″ Amish turned hickory handle. For this collaboration with Solo Stove, the axe comes with 4 wax and hickory fire starters that uses wood shavings from each axe handle.
It also comes with a full-grain leather axe sheath and Campfire Log, and commemorative matchbooks with artwork inspired by the original Brant & Cochran Tool Company. While now the name of the axe company, Brant & Cochran Tool was originally the name of a tool shop in Detroit that was owned by the founders’ grandfather.
If you want this heirloom-quality axe, you have to act fast. The $349.99 Maine-made axe is limited to only 250.
Note that the above video says the handle is made from ash wood. We believe the description to be accurate that it’s hickory.
