Solo Stove is all about accessories that let you do more with your fire pit. Their latest turns the Bonfire fire pit into a charcoal grill.
Solo Stove used to make a purpose built grill, but they discontinued it. We’re happy to see the new Cookout Kit, which serves as a replacement Solo Stove grill.
What’s Included?
The Cookout Kit retails for $299.99 (check price), and it’s designed to work with a Bonfire 2.0 fire pit – not included. It’s the only model that they currently offer the Cookout Kit for, but that’s their mid-sized fire pit model that’s the most popular.
Included with the Cookout Kit is the frame to transform the fire pit into a grill, a charcoal adapter to burn charcoal, and your choice of a cast iron grill or griddle top.
Cookout Kit Frame
The star of the Cookout Kit is the frame design that holds the fire pit. It has some features that take it to the next level.
It can be adjusted in multiple ways for portability or grilling comfort. It has two side shelves that are collapsible, and the whole frame is collapsible so it can easily be packed into the back of a vehicle. You can also cook on it with the frame at a low height or a higher height.
To make the frame withstand the elements it’s made from corrosion-resistant electrophoretic and powder-coated cold-rolled steel. That means that electrical current is used during the coating process to make it adhere better.
Other Cooking Options
Beyond what comes in the Cookout Kit, it works with other accessories that go on top of the fire pit. The most obvious one that you’d want for cooking is the Fire Pit Pizza Oven, which lets you cook pizzas right on top of the fire pit. This adds to the versatility of the accessory.
