Recteq is always an innovator when it comes to pushing the temperature limits of a pellet grill. Even with their griddle, they’ve stuck to wood pellets as a fuel source.
Maybe it’s genius, or maybe it’s pure stubbornness, regardless, they make some great pellet grills because of it. Their latest pellet grill, the X-Fire Pro 825 carries this torch with two fire pots, and high heat grilling capabilities.
Finally, the best gas grill is now a pellet grill. This is a totally new grill concept for recteq and the pellet grill category as a whole. Our research indicated that while the majority of gas grillers enjoy their current grilling experience, they wish they could also cook low and slow. So, we challenged ourselves to replicate the hot, fast, open-lid convenience of gas while still delivering that additional control and versatility of pellet grill smoking. With the X-Fire Pro, we’ve done that and stayed true to our quality and customer service DNA.

Two Fire Pot Design
Recteq came up with a smart design to be able to change the capabilities of pellet grilling. There are two fire pots, that have two different functions.
The one on the left side of the grill features recteq’s unique heat deflector design that helps increase the temperature range. Rather than being a flat piece of steel, it has a bunch of holes in it.

The holes increase in diameter as they move away from the fire pot. This lets more heat through, the further it is from the heat source.
The right fire pot also has a unique design. There are baffles over top of it that are controlled by a dial on the right side of the grill. By turning the sear setting up on the dial, it opens that baffles over the fire pot more.

This provides open flame access to the food your cooking. That’s how they get the advertised 1,250 degree maximum temperature of the grill. It’s similar to the Pit Boss flame broiler lever, but with a different execution.

To provide pellets to both fire pot, the pellet hopper is on the front of the grill rather than the side. It holds 20 lbs of pellets for cooking.
Cook Modes
In addition to high temp grilling, the X-Fire Pro 825 also can be used for smoking traditional barbecue. Setting the grill to Smoke Mode turns on the traditional pellet grill controller. There you can set the temperature just like you would on any other recteq pellet grills.
