A brand that has emerging for outdoor cooking innovation is Cuisinart. I started to take notice of them pushing the envelope of outdoor cooking last year with their Outdoor Wok Station, and they’ve continued this year with the Outdoor Griddler.
It’s a 28″ griddle that has a feature we haven’t seen on any other griddles. We’ve seen some from Blackstone with warming stations under the griddle plate or air fryers, but Cuisinart’s Outdoor Griddler has a flame broiler.
Features and Specs
- Retail price of $499.99 (check price)
- 28″ carbon steel griddle plate
- 3-burners for multi-zone cooking
- Hood to cover your griddle when it’s not in use
- Push and turn electronic ignition gas knobs for easy starts, like a stove
- Separate grease pan for the griddle and the broiler to making cleaning easier
- Multiple rack height settings in the broiler
Patent Pending Broiler
Griddles are great to cook on in their own right, but the show stealer here is the broiler. How it works is there are baffles above the gas burners, which are controlled by two knobs on the front of the griddle.
When the knobs are turned, it turns the baffles to deflect the flames from the burners down on the food below. There’s a Toast/Melt setting which will give heat of around 75 degrees F to 100 degrees F, and a Broil setting which will get up to 600 degrees F.
It adds versatility to what you can cook with the griddle. It also means you can cook more food at once for different food pairings.
