The storied hair appliance company, Conair, has has acquired The Fulham Group, the maker of Cuisinart Outdoor Products. It’s an acquisition that makes a lot of sense because it brings together an important part of Cuisinart.
Conair already owned the Cuisinart brand, which they acquired in 1989, so this acquisition adds on the design and distribution arm of Cuisinart’s outdoor cooking portfolio.

The Fulham Group was founded in 2007 by Kris Kahn to conceive, design and distribute outdoor products including grills, smokers, griddles, pizza ovens, heaters and fire pits. Post-acquisition the Fulham Group will be renamed Cuisinart Outdoors.
The Fulham Group is currently based out of Newton, MA, and all employees will be retained and will remain in their current location.

Conair itself was acquired by investment firm American Securities in May of 2021. This is Conair’s first acquisition since joining American Securities. The transaction closed on August 31st.
While Conair is most associated with hair appliances, they have a wide range of brands under their umbrella. Beyond the aforementioned Cuisinart, they also own Waring, which sells a variety of commercial kitchen appliances.

Beyond news of the acquisition, Cuisinart says to watch the Cuisinart Outdoors product portfolio. They have some new products coming in spring 2024, that cater to the need for versatile, multi-function outdoor cooking equipment. We’re excited to see what they release.
