UPDATE: Click here for our full Char-Broil EDGE review
It looks like Napoleon is going to have some competition in the full-size, outdoor electric grill market when they release their Rogue EQ this fall. In time for summer, Char-Broil released the Edge electric grill (check price).
The Edge grill adds to Char-Broil’s innovative line-up that also includes the temperature controlled Cruise gas grill, which was released earlier this year. It also gives Char-Broil a very diverse product line-up with something for everybody. They have charcoal grills, gas grills, electric grills, vertical smokers, fryers, griddles, and even offset smokers and pellet grills if you include the Oklahoma Joe’s brand that they acquired in 1998.
Below are the features on the Char-Broil Edge.
- Retails for $799
- 330 square inches of cooking space
- Digital temperature control
- Temperature range of 200 degrees F to 700 degrees F
- Has an AutoClean mode
- Weighs 109 lbs
- 30 day money back guarantee
- 3 year warranty on the grate/emitter and the lid/firebox and 1 year on other parts
The Edge also has a cool new wave look to it that would make me want to listen to Talking Heads while grilling. The only thing that it’s missing is it doesn’t have connectivity with a smart phone. If that’s essential, then maybe wait for the Napoleon Rogue EQ, otherwise the Char-Broil Edge is a great option for a full-size, electric grill.
