As Camp Chef mentioned earlier this month, they signed a multi-year agreement with Guy Fieri. Today, the first product from the new collaboration was released. It’s a limited edition version of their game changing pellet grill.

The new grill is Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Woodwind Pro 36. It has everything that makes the Woodwind Pro great, namely the Smoke Box, and adds some additional features to it.

What’s Different from the Woodwind Pro?

The Guy Fieri version of the Woodwind Pro retails for $100 dollars more than the regular version, for a total of $1,599 (check price). What do you get for the additional money?

The most obvious changes are to the badging on the grill. There is a Guy Fieri icon on one side of the lid and the Flavortown brand on the other.

There’s also a copy of Guy Fieri’s autograph on the pellet hopper. To finish off the badge changes, the pellet hopper has a Woodwind Pro badge replaced with a Camp Chef badge.

Other changes include a black side panel of the grill on the opposite side of the hopper. This adds gives it a more “blacked out” look to it.

The bottom shelf on the pellet grill got a diamond plate aesthetic which looks nice. The handle on the grill lid also is updated from silver black.

The last change that we can spot is on the Smoke Box. It got a more substantial handle, which looks good, but also probably makes that assembly feel better too.

Woodwind Pro

Beyond the differences the meat of the grill is still the Woodwind Pro that produces much more smoke flavor than a standard pellet grill. We go into detail about it in our article from when it was released, but the Smoke Box works as advertised.

The Smoke Box is on a slide so that you can pull it out of the cook chamber. You load it with wood chips, chunks, or pellets, then slide it back into the cook chamber.

It rests right above the fire pot for the pellets, with a butterfly valve to control the burn in the Smoke Box. Beyond adding more smoke to barbecue, it’s also great for cold smoking.

While all the attention goes to the Smoke Box, the Woodwind Pro also has stainless steel insides for durability. The temperature on the grill can be controlled with the onboard controller or through the Camp Chef app.
