Camp Chef is a little different than other grill companies. They make one of the best pellet grills, but they also are more outdoorsy, and are known for making really good camp stoves. Their Everest 2X camp stove is one of the most popular stoves of its kind.

Carrying that tradition forward, they’ve released the Kodiak. A two burner camp stove that’s perfect for maximizing your packing space.

Features and Specs

  • Retail price of $99.99 (check price)
  • Two burners that are 10,000 BTUs each
  • 200 square inches of cooking space
  • Side wind guards to protect the flames from the elements
  • Matchless ignition

Made for Portability

The Kodiak is built with portability and storage in mind. The lid folds down like a suitcase, and at 3.5 inches high, it’s a really compact design.

What helps to move it around is the stove has built-in regulator storage inside of it. That helps keep it in place, so you know where it is, and it’s not rattling around.

Kodiak vs. Everest 2X

For people looking for a new camp stove, they’ll want to compare the Kodiak against the Everest 2X. The winner will be depending on what you’re looking for.

The Everest packs more of a punch with double the BTUs of cooking power. Each burner has 20,000 BTUs compared to the 10,000 BTU burners on the Kodiak. While the Kodiak has more power than the average kitchen stovetop, the extra power is helpful in cold or bad weather.

For sacrificing power, the Kodiak has smaller dimensions, which is ideal for packing. It’s only a pound less in weight, but it has a much smaller height. It’s 3.5 inches high versus 6 inches on the Everest. The width and depth are pretty comparable at 0.2 inches less in each dimension.

You’ll also save on price with the Kodiak. It’s quite a big cheaper at $99.99 compared to $189.99 for the Everest 2X.
