Camp Chef Parent, Vista Outdoor (NYSE: VSTO) announced today that they are going to release their Q4 and fiscal year 2022 earnings on Thursday, May 5th. They still haven’t announced to consumers the Camp Chef Apex dual fuel grill, so it will be interesting to see if they release it ahead of their earnings or in conjunction with them. They are the first of the public outdoor cooking brands to release earnings this quarter.
Vista Outdoor follows a fiscal year, rather than a calendar year for their financials, so Q4 of 2022 translates to Q1 on the calendar. They will put out an earnings release at 5 am EST, prior to the market opening, and then hold a conference call at 9 am EST. They will also have a recording of the call available until Thursday, June 2, 2022.
There are 7 analysts covering Vista Outdoor and they have an EPS estimate range from $1.76 a share to $1.85, with an average of $1.80. We’ll see if they do it again this quarter, but they have a history of beating their estimates. Their estimated revenue for the quarter ranges from $746.2 million to $780.3M.
Vista Outdoor is a larger and more diverse company than others in the outdoor cooking space, but earnings have been a mixed bag recently. Weber and Traeger hit on their earnings, but issued low guidance due to supply chain concerns, while Solo Stove maker Solo Brands and Blackstone Griddle maker Blackstone Products stuck to their previous guidance.
