Ace Hardware announced they had record online sales over the 5-day holiday shopping period from Thanksgiving thru Cyber Monday. They also had record online sales on both Black Friday and Cyber Monday, fueled by grills, tools and power equipment.
Year-over-year, they saw a 45% sales increase on Black Friday, which was a single day online record for them. They also saw a 33% increase on Cyber Monday, and a 33% increase over the 5-day period.
Our strong increase in sales over the Cyber 5 weekend is a testament to our organizational focus of being the best in service, quality, and convenience for our customers. Our continuous investments in the digital and omnichannel shopping experience make it easy for customers to shop Ace any way they prefer. These results don’t happen without our retailers always serving their customers with award winning service. 90% of Ace’s online orders are either picked up instore, curbside or hand delivered by our local red vested hero store associates.
Bill Kiss, Head of Digital at Ace Hardware
An omnichannel shopping experience is a focus for Ace and something that’s beginning to earn them accolades. They recently ranked second on Total Retail’s Top 100 Omnichannel Retailers report, which is based on a retailer’s ability to integrate digital and physical channels.
Home Depot had noted on their earnings call a couple weeks ago that hadn’t seen early holiday shopping, like they did in 2021. We’ll see if the records set by Ace are a trend for the holiday season, or pent-up demand that was realized earlier last year.
