Vista Outdoor Inc. (NYSE: VSTO), the parent company of Camp Chef grills, announced the acquisition Fiber Energy Products. From their second quarter FY22 financial results news release, Fiber Energy Products is a leader in premium, all-natural wood heating and grilling pellet fuel which provides additional growth opportunities and another consumable offering for our Camp Chef customers. Financial terms weren’t disclosed in the release, but the Arkansas Democrat Gazette quotes Vista Outdoor CEO, Chris Metz as valuing the deal at about $48M. The strategic acquisition will give Camp Chef more control over their wood pellet supply for their grills.
From Fiber Energy Product’s website, they have a state-of-the-art wood pellet manufacturing facility located in the pristine forests of northern Arkansas. They also have a second facility located in beautiful southern Missouri. Their facilities first began producing 100% all-natural wood pellet fuel in 2006. Since then, they have become the foremost manufacturer of premium hardwood and softwood heating pellets, BBQ and grilling pellets, and animal bedding throughout the mid western and southern United States.
The acquisition will give Camp Chef quite a bit of extra capacity for pellet production. Fiber Energy Products’ assets include 2 pellet plants that include 7 pellet mills. This news comes on the heels of the news that Pit Boss Grills parent, Dansons, opening the largest pellet mill in the country earlier this year.
