While outdoor cooking and football often go together, Jackson State’s quarterback Shedeur Sanders is launching a product that’s a direct crossover. He’s partnering with PLB Sports & Entertainment on a name, image and likeness (NIL) deal to launch a BBQ sauce called #2 BBQ Sauce.
The flavor profile of the sauce is a tomato-based rich, thick, sweet, molasses-style BBQ sauce with tangy vinegar and fiery heat that finishes with a subtle smoky note. Sanders had the following to say in a press release about the product.
When my workforce approached me about creating my very own barbecue sauce, I mentioned, ‘that is all I eat. That is excellent!’ . It’s extremely genuine and by no means pressured. We tasted a couple of totally different choices. I gave my opinion on what I appreciated and what I did not like. And we obtained it collectively and made the proper sauce.

The BBQ sauce is available at MS Kroger locations, the JSU Bookstore, or at PLB Sports & Entertainment’s website for $34.99 for a 3-pack. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Thurgood Marshall Fund.
