Monument Grills Releases the Eminence 605 with 2 Infrared Burners

Monument Grills is a gas grill company that offers good value for your money. It sits in a sweet spot in the market at the midway point between the cheapest grills and the brand name gas grills.

I’ve tested three different Monument Grills over the past two years, and they’ve always worked to expectations. I also got quite a few compliments on the Mesa two-burner gas grill last year.

Their latest release, the Eminence 605, follows that grilling lineage where it offers features of more expensive grills, but at the same time nobody would call it a cheap grill. Beyond its features, it’s also a good looking grill. It came and joined the party dressed to kill with its colorful LED display and color-changing gas knobs.

The gas knobs don’t just change colors to look good either. They indicate what temperature the grill is at based on the color, because when drinks flow, people forget how hot the grill still is.

Features and Specs

  • Retail price of $1,349 (check price)
  • Can be fueled with LP or natural gas with conversion kit
  • Has a touchscreen LED display
  • Connects to the Monument phone app with Bluetooth
  • Includes two temperature probes to keep an eye on your cook
  • Display shows how full your propane tank is
  • Max temps of 850 degrees F or greater
  • Total cooking area of 860 square inches
  • Includes a rotisserie

Infrared Burners

Infrared burners have been a staple of high-end grills because of their searing power and, when used in the rear, for juicy rotisserie cooking. It’s great to see them on a grill with a less expensive price point. The Eminence 605 has both a infrared side burner and an infrared burner rear burner.

Eminence Series

Beyond the flagship Eminence 605, Monument released two other less expensive grills, the 405 and the 425. What’s a little confusing about their numbering is despite having a higher model number, it’s a front, because the 425 is the lesser equipped and cheaper grill.

The Eminence 425 is a good all-around gas grill that retails for $749. It has four burners and a regular side burner for making sauces.

The Eminence 405 steps up to some of the better features that the 605 has. It retails for $949 and includes an infrared side burner and the display with smart features.
