We’ve all seen videos of failed attempts at frying turkeys where fire balls are shooting everywhere. To avoid that catastrophe, Charbroil has updated their Big Easy air fryer, which will safely cook up to a 16-pound turkey.
It isn’t limited to turkeys either, the propane powered air fryer is big enough to handle any large cut of meat. It’s big enough for two racks of ribs, two whole chickens, an 8-pound roast, or a 6-pound pork shoulder.
Updated Styling
The original Big Easy was a unique product that was really well liked. At the time of writing, it has 4.7 stars on Amazon from 7,000 reviews. That’s pretty solid.
The updated version kept the features that people loved, but gave it a much more modern look. It has the updated Charbroil branding, and an all-black finish that looks really sharp. They also added some cutouts on the stand at the bottom to finish off the look.

Upgraded Ignition
Beyond the styling, one other update for the new Big Easy is it has a new ignition system. The old version had a rotary ignition in addition to the gas control knob.
The new version has a piezo ignition, like you’d find on many grills and pizza ovens. The gas control knob also starts the ignition, for simpler operation.
Cooking with the Air Fryer
The Big Easy comes with a cooking basket, a basket lifting tool, a meat thermometer, quick and a removable drip tray. Charbroil also sells a neat 22-piece accessory kit for it to really broaden what it can do.
The accessory kit has various hooks and holders to cook different types of food. It makes it almost like cooking in a barrel smoker.
The air fryer uses no oil, so it’s safer to use and healthier than an oil fryer but still gives great results. It’s also faster to cook on than an oven, and should cook a turkey in as little as 8-10 minutes per pound.
