AMD Direct operates a portfolio of premium outdoor cooking and lifestyle brands, and also supports private label clients. With four different premium grill brands (American Made Grills, Summerset, Sunfire Grills, and True Flame), they’re executing a strategy to streamline operations by selling American Made Grills.
With the divestiture of the brand, AMD Direct plans to invest in optimizing inventory levels for faster fulfillment, enhancing customer support capabilities, and strengthening marketing initiatives.
The sale of the American Made Grills brand is a strategic decision that allows us to focus on our core competencies and ensure we stay competitive in the outdoor living market. This move positions AMD Direct to concentrate on innovation and growth in areas critical to our long-term success, while American Made Grills is well-placed to thrive under its new ownership.
Dennis Smith, CEO and President of AMD Direct
American Made Grills is based out of Long Island, New York, and makes some beautiful grills for outdoor kitchens or stand-alone operation. A great example of what they produce is the Encore hybrid grill.
It runs off natural gas or propane, but also can use charcoal or wood chunks on top of the burners. In addition to the multi-fuel capability, it has all the build qualities you’d expect from a premium grill like 304 stainless steel, a 16 gauge hood with spring assist, and a Flame Thrower ignition.
AMD Direct is selling the American Made Grills brand to another family owned company that operates in the outdoor space. The new owners are the Nicolia family, who will operate it under the company American Made Grills LLC.
The new owners also own Nicolock, which specializes in paving stone manufacturing. Having American Made Grills in their portfolio gives them new opportunities to grow and innovate in the outdoor kitchen segment.
