Snoop Dogg Gives Up Smoke…With a Solo Stove Fire Pit CollaborationSolo Brands and their largest holding, Solo Stove, have been on quite a journey over the last twelve months. They went from seeing good growth, to stalling out, to a CEO change marked by a collaboration with Snoop Dogg, and into a rebuild.
With the change in CEO, it brought additional changes to their Executive Management team. There’s only two members listed that started earlier than 2024, their General Counsel, and their Chief Operating Officer.
Now they’re only down to one, as it was revealed in an SEC filing that the COO has resigned.
On September 23, 2024, Matthew Webb notified Solo Brands, Inc. (the “Company”) of his decision to resign as Chief Operating Officer of the Company, effective September 27, 2024. The Company has transitioned his duties internally to other members of management and begun a search for his replacement.
September 26th SEC Filing from Solo Brands
While it’s not surprising to see continued turnover at Solo Brands, the timeline is surprising. There may have been other conversations going on behind the scenes, but resigning on a Monday and leaving that Friday is extremely short notice for an executive.
Matthew Webb began his time with Solo Stove as COO in October 2019. He’s seen them through tremendous growth for the brand, especially through the Pandemic.
Solo Stove began as a direct-to-consumer (DTC) brand, so having a strong supply chain has always been vital. They’ve leaned more heavily into wholesale channels recently as they seen revenue decline in DTC.
